Banana Bread
Jump-start baking season with this tasty quick bread that comes out perfect every time!
Most of us have sweet cravings that only baked goods can fill. Baking at home allows you to control the amount of sugar, fats, and fillers, while lowering the temptation to go for store bought sweets. This banana bread has been a favorite in my house for over 25 years and no one noticed when I reduced the sugar by 1/3. This recipe is easy and comes out perfect every time. Enjoy the smell of fresh banana bread baking in your oven!
Banana Bread
Ingredients
3 large overripe bananas (Note: Very ripe bananas yield a very most bread!)
1 egg
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1.5 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 Tablespoons melted unsalted butter
1/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (Optional but delicious!)
Directions
Preheat oven to 325° F.
Spray 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Use a potato masher to puree bananas in a large bowl.
Add egg and mix in with banana.
Add sugar, brown sugar, flour, baking soda, and salt and mix well.
Add melted butter and mix well.
Use spatula to evenly spread thicker batter into loaf pan.
Sprinkle mini chips evenly across the top of loaf.
Bake for 50 Minutes. (Note: Time may vary depending on pan size.)
Let cool for 5 minutes and serve.
